What to see in Tirana

Skanderbeg Square

Tirana's pedestrian heart — ringed by the National History Museum, Et'hem Bey Mosque, the Clock Tower and the Opera House. Best visited in the evening when locals gather for the 'xhiro' stroll.

The Pyramid of Tirana

Built under communism as a museum for Enver Hoxha, now transformed into a graffiti-covered creative and cultural space. Climb the 130 steps to the roof viewpoint — one of the best free views of the city.

Blloku

Once a restricted enclave for the communist leadership, Blloku is now the city's trendiest district — cafés, cocktail bars, boutiques and restaurants packed into a walkable grid of streets. Tirana's nightlife runs late here.

The New Bazaar (Pazari i Ri)

A covered market of handmade goods, pottery, spices, produce and traditional carpets by day; a lively restaurant and bar hub by evening. One of the best places to eat local food in Tirana.

Mount Dajti & Dajti Ekspres

The Dajti Ekspres cable car climbs 1,100 m above Tirana in 15 minutes, revealing views across the city to the Adriatic Sea. The summit has a restaurant and the start of the Tujani Peak hike (2–2.5 hours).

Namazgah Mosque

Opened in 2024, the Namazgah is the largest mosque in Albania — a striking modern building on the main boulevard that has become one of Tirana's most photographed new landmarks.
