Why Korçë belongs on your route
Korçë sits at 869 m in the south-eastern highlands close to North Macedonia and Greece. It has a different character from coastal Albania: tree-lined boulevards, an Orthodox cathedral destroyed by communists and rebuilt in 1992, an old bazaar beautifully restored, and the country's only real winter atmosphere. The National Museum of Medieval Art holds over 7,000 icons dating from the 11th century.

Old Bazaar (Pazari i Vjetër)

Resurrection Cathedral
