Valbonë is the wilder end of the Theth–Valbonë route, reached by the Komani Lake ferry — a 2.5-hour boat journey through canyon walls that rivals Norwegian fjords. Most travellers do a multi-day loop: Shkodër → ferry → Valbonë guesthouse → hike to Theth → minivan back. Allow three days for the full experience.

Verified LinkThe oldest restaurant in the valley, open since 2005, and still the one trekkers aim for coming off the Theth pass. A whole goat turns on the outdoor fire; a second kitchen cooks for anyone who has reached their limit of meat, cream and butter, which happens on about day three. Open 1 May to 15 October — outside that the valley road is the problem, not the kitchen.
