About this destination
The Llogara pass is the moment the trip changes: you leave Vlorë through black pine forest, climb to 1,025 m, and the entire Albanian Riviera opens below you. Tandem paragliding launches from the ridge and lands on Palasë beach below in 15–20 minutes. The national park surrounds the summit. The road south to Dhërmi is one of the great drives in Europe.
Top attractions
At 1,025 m, the panorama that opens below you — the entire Albanian Riviera, the Ionian Sea, the Greek island of Corfu on the horizon — is one of the great travel moments in the Balkans.
Launch from the ridge above the pass with a certified instructor and glide down to Palasë beach below — a 15–20 minute flight over the Riviera. Cost around €100 per person.
One of Albania's oldest national parks, protecting a forest of black pines, beech and fir on the Ceraunian mountains, with marked trails, eagles, and road-accessible picnic spots.
The highest peak of the Riviera mountains, reached by a full-day hike from the pass. The view from the summit takes in both the Adriatic and Ionian seas on a clear day.
The "Outlaw's Spring" — a shaded mountain spring in the pine forest at the pass summit, a traditional stopping point for travellers. Free, cool and perfect for a picnic.
The switchback road from 1,025 m down to Dhërmi is 15 km of hairpin bends, sea views and pine-scented air — drive it slowly. Stop at the first lay-by after the pass for the best photograph.
